Life at Sangeli is all about unscripted joy, and our green vision follows that exact same rhythm. We simply design our daily operations to protect the playground right outside your villa, keeping our sands white, lagoons turquoise, and operations entirely circular. By running a clean, common-sense ecosystem behind the scenes, we ensure the raw magic of Sangeli stays vibrant for every sunset to come.
We don't rely entirely on heavy generators to keep the lights on and the villas cool. Instead, we have partnered with Swimsol to install an extensive network of solar panels across our rooftop spaces. By harvesting the intense tropical sun right above us, we reduce our dependency on imported diesel and run the island on clean energy.
The 2016 bleaching left our surrounding lagoon floor barren and quiet. To change that, our marine team began actively collecting broken coral fragments and anchoring them onto metal frames to give them a second chance to grow. Today, over 7,000 thriving corals later, the reef is back, bringing a busy world of hawksbill turtles, eagle rays, and reef sharks right back to our shores.
Everything we use behind the scenes is managed to keep our footprint off the sand. We harvest and purify our own drinking water into reusable glass bottles, eliminating single-use plastics from every villa. All wastewater is treated on-site and routed straight into an irrigation loop to keep the island’s gardens lush, while our cleaning teams work strictly with biodegradable products to protect the lagoon.
